London Heathrow :: 24 June :: 38 Photos!
What a day that was! Owing to part time work and my demanding degree over the past 3 years, getting up to Heathrow has been impossible, but with my job and degree now over, I was able to take a trip up there today to meet Andy (better known as A330Crazy) and one of his friends. The day was looking a bit gloomy to start and BBC did forecast light rain all day, but this wasn't going to stop us getting up there. As it was, the weather was perfect all day with some cloud around in the early afternoon. The sun shone brightly between about 11:30am and 6:00pm, when we called it a day. And the sun and temperatures of up to 33C meant that we'd be getting a nice sun tan whilst watching the interesting selection of aircraft pass by!
I took about 150 photos, but as you can expect with Heathrow, movements are dominated by British Airways and bmi, so I'm going to keep photos of these particular airlines to minimum. There are 38 photos below for you to enjoy, but bear in mind that unlike a lot of you, I don't have access to decent camera equipment just yet, so the quality isn't 100%   British Airways 767-300 flying over a billboard on approach to 27R  An Asiana 747-400 descending onto 27R  Air Algerie 737-800... with winglets!  An Air Canada A330-300 looking quite nice in the new colour scheme  Seeing an American Airlines 777-200 at Heathrow isn't uncommon!  A closeup look at a British Airways A319 nose  In 6 hours, we saw this bmi Star Alliance A321 only once  A bmi A319 after a "nose job"  EVA Air MD-11 Freighter. Excuse the lamp post!  Concorde has been moved from alongside runway 5/23 to outside the bmi hangar

 Croatia Airlines Airbus A320  A relatively new addition to the Czech Airlines fleet - the A320-200  Cyprus Airways operates both the A320 and the A330 into Heathrow  A Belgian-registered DHL A300 arrives at Heathrow. A second followed later  Egypt Air Airbus A330-200  Emirates Boeing 777-300  Japan Air Lines (JAL) 777-200 arriving on 27R  Royal Jordanian Cargo Airbus A310  Kenya Airways 777-200 in a newer, tackier scheme  Korean Air 747-400

 Kuwait Airways Airbus A300...  ...arrived a few hours before this Kuwait Airways Airbus A340-300  Lufthansa 737-300. We didn't see any football-nosed aircraft today!  LOT Polish Airlines 737-300 arriving on 27R  Air Memphis (registered in Egypt, but never heard of them) arriving on 27L  Malaysia Airlines 747-400 arrives at Heathrow  Pakistan International 747-300 arrives. I saw this depart a few hours later on my way home  Qantas Airways - the first of two - landing on 27L  My favourite shot of the day - a Qatari A330-300  Royal Air Maroc (RAM) 737-800 arriving on 27R

And last, but not least...
 Saudi Arabian 777-200  Singapore Airlines 747-400 arriving from Changi  Turkmenistan 757-200 boasting a bland colour scheme  United Airlines 777 - another common sight at Heathrow  I love the Uzbekistan colour scheme, more so on the 767 than this 757, arriving from Tashkent.  G-VFIT - an A340-600 delivered to Virgin Atlantic only last month!  The Virgin A340-300s are starting to look a bit old  And finally, a Yemenia A330-200 arrives on 27R Any comments welcome
